1. Overview

NoteMate is a study tool that helps you record classes, generate transcripts and summaries, and ask questions using AI.

2. Audio Processing (We do not store audio)

We do not store your raw audio recordings. Audio is processed in-memory only to produce transcripts and summaries. Once processing is complete, the audio itself is not retained by NoteMate.

What we may store instead: the text outputs generated from your audio, such as transcripts, chunk summaries, and tags.

3. Information We Collect

Account data: email and basic account identifiers (via authentication provider).
Usage data: app interactions needed to operate the service (e.g., created chats, messages, summaries, and notes).
Content you provide: text you type in chats, plus transcripts/summaries generated from your audio.
Payments: if you purchase credits, payment processing is handled by our payment provider (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full payment card details.

4. How We Use Your Data

To provide transcripts, summaries, and study features.
To provide chat features (including AI responses) and persist your chat history.
To manage credits, subscriptions, and billing.
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with service providers required to operate NoteMate (e.g., hosting, database, analytics, payment, and AI providers). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and applicable agreements.

6. Data Retention

We keep your stored content (messages, transcripts, summaries) for as long as you keep your account or until you delete it, unless we are required by law to retain some data for a longer period.

7. Your Choices

You can delete chats from the app.
You can sign out at any time.

8. Disclaimer

AI-generated content may contain mistakes. Always review outputs before relying on them for critical decisions.
